First Trust/Aberdeen Global Opportunity Income Fund Declares Monthly Common Share Distribution for January of $0.13 Per Share

WHEATON, Ill.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--First Trust/Aberdeen Global Opportunity Income Fund (the "Fund") (NYSE: FAM) has declared the Fund's regularly scheduled monthly distribution, payable on January 15, 2009 to shareholders of record as of January 6, 2009. The ex-dividend date is expected to be January 2, 2009. The monthly distribution information for the Fund appears below.

Distribution Rate based on the December 19, 2008 NAV of $12.54: 12.44%
Distribution Rate based on the December 19, 2008 closing market price of $9.62: 16.22%

The majority, and possibly all, of this distribution will be paid out of net investment income earned by the Fund. A portion of this distribution may come from net short-term realized capital gains or return of capital. The final determination of the source and tax status of all distributions paid in 2009 will be made after the end of 2009.

The Fund is a diversified, closed-end management investment company that seeks to provide a high level of current income. As a secondary objective, the Fund seeks capital appreciation. The Fund pursues these investment objectives by investing in the world bond markets through a diversified portfolio of investment grade and below-investment grade government and corporate debt securities.
