FG begins Emerging Technologies Institute construction in Kano

  • The Federal Government has commenced the construction of the Sustainable & Emerging Technologies Institute under the aegis of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure in a bid to secure the socio-economic well-being of future generations.

The Nigerian Federal Government has initiated the construction of the Emerging Technologies Institute in Kano, aimed at fostering innovation and technological advancement. This project, part of a broader initiative to establish six such institutes across Nigeria, was highlighted by the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, during the groundbreaking ceremony. The institute will focus on training in emerging technologies like AI, IoT, robotics, and blockchain, with the goal of enhancing Nigeria's digital economy and supporting the country's ambition to become a global talent factory. The event was attended by key figures including the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, and the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, underscoring the project's significance in national development.
