Paramount's "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" raced to the top of the U.K. and Ireland box office with a £11.7 million ($14.7 million) opening weekend, according to numbers from Comscore. In its second weekend,
"Sonic the Hedgehog 3" has sprinted to the top of the U.K. and Ireland box office, outperforming its predecessor by earning £4.1 million ($5.2 million) in its opening weekend, marking a 28% increase over the opening of "Sonic the Hedgehog 2." Despite this success, "Mufasa: The Lion King" maintained a strong presence, securing the second spot with £2.2 million ($2.8 million) in its second weekend, bringing its total to £10.2 million ($13 million). Meanwhile, "The Marvels" experienced a significant drop, falling to third place with £1.1 million ($1.4 million), a 63% decrease from its debut. Other notable performances include "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes" in fourth place, and "The Boy and the Heron" rounding out the top five, showcasing a diverse range of films capturing audience attention.
