Driver dies at the scene of major crash outside Denman

A major car crash occurred near Muswellbrook, involving a sedan and a ute, which resulted in five people being injured. The incident took place on the New England Highway at Aberdeen around 11:30 AM. Emergency services, including police, paramedics, and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, responded to the scene. The sedan's occupants, a 37-year-old woman, a 39-year-old man, and a 12-year-old boy, were all treated for various injuries; the woman and the boy were airlifted to John Hunter Hospital, while the man was taken to Muswellbrook Hospital. The ute driver, a 29-year-old man, and his passenger, a 30-year-old woman, were also hospitalized with injuries. The highway was closed in both directions following the crash, causing significant traffic disruptions. Police are investigating the circumstances of the collision.
