  • Shields shared that during a visit to her gynecologist, she discussed her ongoing discomfort with her labia, including bleeding and chafing. She claims the doctor suggested a surgical reduction, which Shields reluctantly agreed to. However, what followed was something far beyond what she had anticipated.

Brooke Shields revealed in a new documentary that she underwent a medical procedure without her full consent while under the influence of medication. During an interview with The New Yorker, Shields discussed an incident where she was given too much of a painkiller, leading to a surreal experience where she felt like she was "rolling in her own bed" and "hallucinating." She was hospitalized, and while there, a doctor performed a procedure on her without her proper consent, which she described as "terrifying." Shields has since used this experience to advocate for better patient rights and informed consent in medical settings.
