Gidi Gidi, a Kenyan musician, revealed in an interview with Oga Obinna that he and his former music partner, Maji Maji, turned down a lucrative offer of KSh 10 million for their song "Unbwogable" to be used as a campaign anthem for Uhuru Kenyatta's 2002 presidential campaign. The duo, who were staunch supporters of Raila Odinga, felt that accepting the money would compromise their political stance. Gidi Gidi explained that representatives from Uhuru's team approached them with cash, but they refused, prioritizing their loyalty to Raila over financial gain. He also mentioned that they were not aware of the full extent of the financial offer at the time, as they were young and more focused on their political beliefs.
