The Writers Guild of America (WGA) has announced the dates for the 2025 WGA Awards, which will take place on April 26, 2025, in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Palladium, and on April 30, 2025, in New York at the Edison Ballroom. These awards celebrate outstanding writing in film, television, new media, and news. The announcement comes after a significant year for the WGA, marked by a historic strike that led to a new contract with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), addressing issues like compensation, residuals, and the use of AI in writing. The WGA is also focusing on promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in its awards process, with changes to its rules and procedures to reflect these values.
