A new $78 million training facility for the Indiana Fever, the WNBA team, is set to be constructed in downtown Indianapolis, with completion targeted for 2025. This facility, which will be built on the site of the former Marion County Jail II, will serve as the primary practice venue for the Fever, replacing their current setup at the St. Vincent Center. The project is part of a broader $400 million development plan for the area, which includes residential, commercial, and office spaces. The initiative is supported by a $36.5 million contribution from the Metropolitan Development Commission, with the rest of the funding coming from private sources. This development not only aims to enhance the team's training capabilities but also to revitalize the neighborhood, fostering economic growth and community engagement.
