San Francisco's nightlife scene is on the rise, and now getting a boost from the mayor.

San Francisco Mayor London Breed has announced the creation of two new "Entertainment Zones" in the city's downtown area to boost economic recovery and enhance the vibrancy of the neighborhood. The zones, located along the 800 block of Market Street and on Ellis Street between Cyril Magnin and Mason streets, will allow for expanded outdoor entertainment and alcohol consumption from noon to 6 p.m. on weekdays. This initiative, set to run through the end of 2023, aims to support local businesses and attract more visitors by offering a safe and enjoyable environment. The move is part of a broader strategy to revitalize downtown San Francisco, which has been struggling with reduced foot traffic and business closures due to the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
