Martin Brundle expressed his gratitude to all who have helped and influenced him along the way to his OBE. As part of the UK's New Year's Honours List, an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) award was bestowed upon Brundle for his services to motor racing and sports broadcasting,

Martin Brundle, a former Formula 1 driver and current Sky Sports F1 commentator, has been awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) in recognition of his services to motorsport and charity. In his statement following the announcement, Brundle expressed his gratitude and surprise at receiving the honor, noting that he never expected such recognition when he started his career in racing. He highlighted his journey from racing to broadcasting, emphasizing his commitment to both fields. Additionally, Brundle mentioned his involvement in charity work, particularly through his association with the MSA Trust, which supports those affected by Multiple System Atrophy, a condition his late wife, Liz, suffered from. He dedicated the award to his family, friends, and colleagues who have supported him throughout his career.
