ITV has announced significant changes to its soap opera schedules, reducing the number of episodes for both "Emmerdale" and "Coronation Street" due to the upcoming European Football Championships. "Emmerdale" will now air only three episodes a week instead of its usual five, while "Coronation Street" will decrease from three episodes to two per week. This adjustment will take effect from Monday, 17th June, and will last for the duration of the tournament, which concludes on 14th July. The decision aims to accommodate the extensive sports coverage during this period, with ITV planning to return to the regular broadcasting schedule post-tournament. Additionally, ITV has promised that despite the reduced episode count, viewers can expect "big storylines" to continue, ensuring the quality and excitement of the shows remain high.
