Your Monster' is definitely one of the year's more unusual films and it's a shame that it's not getting a wider release than it is.

The review of "Your Monster" on Entertainment Focus describes the film as a unique blend of musical, fantasy, and elements reminiscent of "Beauty and the Beast." Directed by Caroline Lindy, who also wrote the screenplay, the movie follows Laura Franco, played by Melissa Barrera, as she navigates life post-cancer treatment and a breakup. The story takes place in her childhood home where she encounters a monster, portrayed by Tommy Dewey, who becomes her unexpected companion. The film explores themes of self-discovery, empowerment, and the healing power of unconventional relationships. While the narrative has its quirky and whimsical moments, it also delves into darker, more introspective territory, making it an unusual but compelling watch. The review highlights the film's originality, the strong performances, especially by Barrera, and its attempt to mix genres, though it notes that the blend might not appeal to everyone due to its tonal shifts and the sometimes jarring mix of humor and drama.
