It will provide two Asian American, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander filmmakers with post-production grants of $50,000 each for their second to fifth feature films.
The Cape (Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment) and The Asian American Foundation (TAAF) have launched the Rising Filmmakers Finishing Fund, aimed at supporting Asian and Pacific Islander (API) directors in completing their feature films. This initiative provides grants ranging from $25,000 to $50,000 to help filmmakers cover post-production costs like editing, sound design, and marketing. The fund not only offers financial support but also mentorship and networking opportunities to help these filmmakers succeed in the industry. Applications for the fund are open until July 15, 2024, with recipients to be announced in September 2024. This program is part of a broader effort to increase representation and provide resources to underrepresented filmmakers in Hollywood.
