Corbin Bernsen Embarks on a New Creative Chapter With Innovative Artists

Los Angeles, September 30, 2025 – In a move that signals a bold pivot for the seasoned actor, Corbin Bernsen has inked an exclusive representation deal with Innovative Artists, the Los Angeles‑based independent music and entertainment company. The 71‑year‑old star, best known for his iconic role as attorney Kevin Ratner on the hit series L.A. Law and his later work on The Big Chill and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, is poised to leverage Innovative Artists’ distribution, marketing, and cross‑platform expertise to launch a new music and multimedia project.

From courtroom drama to the recording studio

Bernsen’s transition into the music world may appear surprising at first glance, but a closer look at his career reveals a lifelong passion for songwriting and performance. The actor first began recording demos in his garage in the 1990s, a hobby that he maintained in the interstices of his acting schedule. After a brief stint on The Big Chill (1983), Bernsen would later perform in a handful of stage productions, including a touring production of The Glass Menagerie that showcased his vocal range.

“In my life, music has always been a constant companion,” Bernsen told the Deadline team in an interview conducted at the headquarters of Innovative Artists in downtown Los Angeles. “It’s my way of expressing emotions that acting alone sometimes can’t capture. This partnership is a dream come true because it gives me the platform to share that side of myself with the world.”

The collaboration will see Bernsen releasing his first full‑length album, Reckoning, slated for a January 2026 drop. The album—an eclectic blend of folk, blues, and contemporary pop—features contributions from a roster of distinguished producers, including Mark Ronson and Dan Auerbach. The lead single, “The World Turns,” has already garnered buzz on streaming services and was teased in a short video posted to Bernsen’s official Instagram account (@corbinbernsen) earlier this month.

Innovative Artists’ expanding footprint

Innovative Artists, which operates a 360‑degree service model encompassing music distribution, marketing, and brand partnerships, has recently diversified its portfolio to include actors and actors with music aspirations. The firm’s CEO, Michael S. Laird, shared the rationale behind the deal in a press release on the company’s website. “Corbin brings a wealth of experience and a unique perspective that will enrich our catalog,” Laird said. “We’re thrilled to partner with him as we continue to bridge the worlds of film, television, and music.”

The company’s recent roster now boasts artists such as indie folk singer‑songwriter Lucy Hale and pop icon Adam Levine, as well as emerging talents like the up‑and‑coming band The Midnight Sun. Innovative Artists has also recently announced a partnership with Spotify to produce a curated playlist featuring their signed artists. Bernsen’s debut album will be part of this inaugural playlist, offering the actor instant exposure to a global streaming audience.

A multi‑platform project

Beyond music, Bernsen’s deal with Innovative Artists includes a broader multimedia component that will see him exploring podcasting, short‑form video series, and interactive fan engagement. A brand new podcast series, Bernsens’ Stories, will launch in November and feature a mix of autobiographical anecdotes, behind‑the‑scenes insights from his film career, and interviews with fellow actors. The series is set to be distributed through the company’s partner network and will be available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube.

The actor also confirmed that he will continue to pursue selective film and television roles, including a new project with writer‑director Jonathan Demme. “I love acting, and I’m not stepping away from it,” Bernsen said. “This partnership gives me the flexibility to pursue both my music and my acting, and I’m excited for what the future holds.”

Looking ahead

With the synergy between Bernsen’s creative vision and Innovative Artists’ resources, the entertainment world may well witness an exciting new chapter for the actor. The partnership not only redefines Bernsen’s artistic identity but also signals a trend toward cross‑disciplinary collaboration in Hollywood.
