From his first assignment in the late '70s covering anadromous fish in the Pacific Northwest, Ross went on to cover major world events for KIRO Newsradio, including the fall of the Berlin Wall, political transformation in then-Czechoslovakia, the fall of the Soviet Union, and the second intifada.
KIRO Radio hosts Dave Ross and Colleen O'Brien are stepping down from their roles at the Seattle-based station. Dave Ross, who has been with KIRO for 30 years, will transition to a commentator role for the station, focusing on his popular "Ross on Radio" segments. Colleen O'Brien, after 15 years, will leave the station entirely to pursue other interests. Their departure marks the end of an era for the station, known for their engaging discussions and significant contributions to local radio. The changes come as part of Bonneville International's broader restructuring of its Seattle operations, which also includes the end of the "Seattle’s Morning News" show.
