  • MSNBC President Rashida Jones is stepping down and the network will replace her with Rebecca Kutler, a key architect of the failed CNN+ streaming service, The New York Times reported Tuesday. Jones spent nearly four years as the network's president.

Rashida Jones, the president of MSNBC, is stepping down from her role, and will be replaced by Cesar Conde, who has been criticized for his oversight of NBCUniversal News Group's digital strategy, particularly the failure of NBC News Now. Conde's tenure has been marked by significant layoffs and a perceived lack of innovation in digital news delivery, leading to a decline in viewership and revenue. Despite these challenges, Conde is set to take over MSNBC at a time when the network is experiencing some of its highest ratings, thanks in part to the political climate and the popularity of certain MSNBC shows. Jones, who has been with MSNBC since 2017, will transition to a new role within NBCUniversal, focusing on strategic initiatives.
