  • Author Neil Gaiman has been accused of sexual assault by multiple women in a New York Magazine cover story. In interviews with journalist Lila Shapiro for her story There Is No Safe Word, the women detailed harrowing and violent stories of their interactions with Gaiman, where he would ask them to call him "master".

Neil Gaiman, the renowned author of works like "Good Omens" and "The Sandman," has been accused of sexual assault by two women. The allegations surfaced in a report by Tortoise Media, detailing claims from a woman named Scarlett, who alleges an assault in 2022, and another woman, referred to as K, who claims she was groomed and assaulted by Gaiman when she was 20 and he was 59. Gaiman has denied these allegations, describing his relationship with K as consensual and suggesting that Scarlett's accusations might be misremembered due to her health issues. The incidents reportedly took place in 2003 and 2022, respectively. Gaiman's legal team has stated that the claims are "disturbing" but untrue, and they are prepared to defend him against these allegations. The New Zealand Police are currently investigating the claims made by Scarlett.
