  • "Squid Game" actor Park Sung-hoon has resigned from the upcoming tvN drama "The Tyrant's Chef" amid backlash for sharing an inappropriate image on his social media during the national mourning period.

Park Sung-hoon, known for his role in "Squid Game," has withdrawn from the upcoming tvN drama "The Kidnapping Day" following a controversy over an inappropriate social media post. The post in question, which was made in 2012, involved a photoshopped image of a child with a caption that was deemed offensive. After the image resurfaced and sparked backlash, Park issued an apology, expressing regret for his past actions and acknowledging the harm caused. He decided to step back from the drama to reflect on his behavior and to prevent any negative impact on the production. The drama, which also stars Yoon Kye-sang and Yuna, is set to premiere on August 13, 2023, and will continue as planned despite Park's exit.
