DCI Regains Control After Facebook, X Accounts Were Hacked

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kenya has successfully regained control of its official social media accounts on both Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) after they were compromised by hackers. The breach occurred on the evening of March 25, when the hackers posted misleading information about a supposed raid on the residence of former President Uhuru Kenyatta. The DCI quickly acknowledged the hack and, with the help of the social media platforms, managed to restore access to their accounts. They also issued a warning to the public about the dangers of cybercrime and the importance of cybersecurity measures. The incident highlighted the vulnerability of even government institutions to cyber attacks and the need for robust security protocols.
