Brainstorm Media Buys Steve Buscemi, John Magaro Dark Comedy 'Psycho Therapy' (EXCLUSIVE)

Brainstorm Media has acquired the North American rights to "The Year Between," a film directed by and starring Alex Heller, with Steve Buscemi also starring. The movie, which had its world premiere at the 2022 SXSW Film Festival, follows the story of Clemence Miller, a college student dealing with bipolar disorder, as she navigates life back at home with her family. The film has been critically acclaimed, winning the Special Jury Award for Best Actress for Heller at the festival. It features a mix of comedy and drama, exploring themes of mental health, family dynamics, and personal growth. The deal was negotiated by Brainstorm Media's CEO Meyer Shwarzstein and Submarine's Josh Braun, with the film set for a theatrical release in the fall.
