  • Huthi media said late Wednesday that new US strikes had hit the rebel-held capital Sanaa, after earlier reporting 19 American raids elsewhere in Yemen. The station had earlier reported 17 raids by the United States "on the Saada governorate", on top of two more on Amran.

The Huthi rebels in Yemen reported that US warplanes conducted airstrikes targeting their positions in the Al-Hodeida province on November 17, 2023. The strikes, which occurred around 17:30 local time, hit a radio station in Al-Hawk district and a site in Al-Salif district. The Huthis claimed that these attacks resulted in civilian casualties, though specific numbers were not provided. The US Central Command confirmed the strikes, stating they were in response to imminent threats posed by the Huthis to maritime traffic in the Red Sea. This incident marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict involving the Huthi rebels, who are backed by Iran, and the US-supported Saudi-led coalition.
