The stock of Trump Media & Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social, surged by 57 percent on its first day of trading on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol "DJT," reaching a peak of $79.38 per share before closing at $57.99. This significant increase added approximately $1.4 billion to former President Donald Trump's net worth, bringing his total to around $6.5 billion. The company, which went public through a merger with Digital World Acquisition Corp., saw its market capitalization climb to about $7.9 billion. Despite the enthusiastic market response, some financial analysts expressed skepticism about the company's long-term viability, citing its lack of profitability and the challenges faced by Truth Social in attracting a broad user base.
