Dem Wa Facebook, a Kenyan comedian, revealed in an interview with Oga Obinna that she spent KSh 4 million to build and furnish a new home for her parents. This act of generosity was her way of expressing gratitude for their support throughout her career. She detailed that the construction cost KSh 3 million, with an additional KSh 1 million spent on furniture and other interior decor. Dem Wa Facebook also shared that she has been financially independent since she was 18, working various jobs before her rise to fame, which allowed her to fund this significant project. Her parents, who were previously living in a modest house, were overjoyed with the new home, which symbolizes her success and appreciation for their sacrifices.
