  • Marquee Broadcasting announced an agreement to acquire Eureka's local television stations KIEM and KVIQ-LD from Imagicomm Communications. The purchase comes less than three years after Imagicomm Communications acquired the stations from their previous owner,

Imagicomm Communications has agreed to sell its Eureka, California-based television stations, KVIQ-LD and KEM-TV, to Marquee Broadcasting. This transaction marks a strategic move for Imagicomm, which has been focusing on expanding its operations in other markets. The sale includes KVIQ-LD, which serves as a CBS affiliate, and KEM-TV, which is affiliated with NBC, both serving the Eureka area. Marquee Broadcasting, known for its ownership of small to mid-sized market stations, will now extend its footprint into Northern California with this acquisition. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed, but the sale is expected to close in the third quarter of 2023, pending regulatory approval.
