Vivek Couto, co-founder of the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA), has passed away at the age of 50 after a battle with cancer. Couto played a significant role in establishing APSA in 2007, aiming to promote and celebrate films from the Asia-Pacific region. His efforts helped elevate the visibility of Asian cinema on the global stage. Colleagues and friends remember him as a passionate advocate for cinema and a visionary leader. The APSA community mourns his loss and acknowledges his lasting impact on the film industry.
