  • Anderson Ranch Arts Center will host its Holiday Open House Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The current exhibit at Anderson Ranch in the Patton-Malott Gallery is the show Last Eagle/Last Gun: Modern Recordings of Ancient Blackfoot Symbolisms.

The Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village is hosting a holiday open house on December 16, 2023, from 1 to 4 p.m., featuring a special exhibit of Native American ledger art. This exhibit, curated by artist and historian Dr. Joe D. Horse Capture, showcases historical ledger drawings from the Plains Indian tribes, which were created on ledger paper during the late 19th century when traditional materials were scarce due to confinement on reservations. The artworks, which depict scenes of daily life, battles, and ceremonies, are on loan from the Denver Art Museum. The open house will also include artist demonstrations, a holiday sale, and refreshments, providing visitors with an opportunity to engage with this significant cultural art form.
