  • At launch, Marvel Rivals has a staggering 33 heroes to pick from, which can feel overwhelming at first. But if you're a Marvel fan, or simply know of these characters through cultural osmosis, you'll likely have a built-in awareness of what each hero and villain can do in battle (to a degree).

"Marvel Rivals" is an upcoming team-based shooter game developed by NetEase, featuring a roster of Marvel superheroes and villains. The game, which has drawn comparisons to "Overwatch" due to its gameplay mechanics, was showcased at Summer Game Fest 2024. It includes characters like Black Panther, Spider-Man, and Magneto, each with unique abilities that reflect their comic book origins. The gameplay involves 6v6 matches where players can team up, use special abilities, and engage in dynamic environments that can be altered during play. The game aims to capture the essence of Marvel's universe with its vibrant art style and character interactions, although it's noted for its chaotic nature due to the high mobility and complex abilities of the characters. "Marvel Rivals" is set to offer a blend of strategy, action, and fan service, with plans for a closed alpha test in July 2024.
